Environmental Specialist - Ferndale Refinery

The Environmental Specialist - Ferndale Refinery oversees the refinery waste program and develops plans for minimizing, handling and disposing of wastes in compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Promote, within the site and to external stakeholders, facility operations and development that demonstrate responsible environmental stewardship.
Responsibilities may include :
+ Visibly demonstrates a commitment to environmental excellence
+ Ensures compliance with requirements of the RCRA Part B permit and state dangerous and solid waste regulations
+ Prepares modifications and/or renewals of RCRA permit as necessary
+ Manages the regulatory reporting of wastes and provides oversight and guidance of waste characterizations, waste handling, container management, inspections, waste tracking, and recordkeeping
+ Represents the refinery when engaging stakeholders on aquatic resource management issues
+ Provides, assistance, permitting-support, and planning in implementation of state spill prevention regulations
+ Reviews and comments on proposed rule-making. Works closely with company networks and trade associations Develops strategy through interaction with management, company networks, and trade associations
+ Monitors, evaluates, and engages stakeholders, as necessary, in Endangered Species Act issues or concerns that may be of interest or impact P66
+ Manages lease requirements and issues associated with the state aquatic lands lease and easement
+ Evaluates land spills, and scope and direct cleanup activities and reporting, and communicate with agencies
+ Manage due diligence, investigation and remediation activities for site in coordination with Corporate Risk Management and Remediation
+ Direct federal, state, and county environmental permitting required for shoreline and aquatic site activities and projects and land-use changes, develop strategies for mitigation of wetland impacts, and manages wetland mitigation bank.
+ Support development of new, or revision of existing, environmental compliance procedures.
+ Manages HSE Self-Audit Process and monthly HSE field walk.
+ Strives to continuously improve performance.
Basic/Required :
+ Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
+ High school diploma or GED
+ 5 or more years of environmental experience with waste management
+ Possess a valid Driver?s License
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office
+ Willing and able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC). Information can be found at https://www.tsa.gov/for-industry/twic
Preferred :
+ Bachelor?s degree in engineering or science
+ 5 or more years refining industry experience
+ Experience maintaining site compliance with solid and hazardous waste regulations
+ Strong technical writing skills to prepare reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
+ Ability to interact with external stakeholders, understand external concerns and issues, and promote respectful and constructive working relationships
+ Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
+ Strong interpersonal skills necessary to work with salaried and hourly employees
+ Sets and follow through on meaningful objectives, with the ability to organize
+ Strong and effective communicator in both individual and group settings (includes oral and written communications)
+ Defines problems, collects data, establishes facts, and draws valid conclusions

The Ferndale Refinery is located in Ferndale, WA which is located on Puget Sound, about 20 miles south of the U.S. - Canada border. The refinery processes about 105,000 barrels per day of oil and is a high conversion facility allowing optimized utilization of feedstock. The refinery includes Clean Gasoline and Ultra-Low Sulfur Diesel units providing emissions friendly products to meet today's stringent standards. Providing a safe and environmentally responsible workplace as well as having a positive impact on the local communities are management priorities. Operations are run 24 hours per day, seven days per week.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
